Right in the Heart of Real Spain
MountainBikingHolidays are situated in "Real Spain", right on the border between Granada and Malaga provinces, but within 50 minutes drive of both airports and within easy reach of most of Andalucia's main attractions. Our guest accommodation, is situated at the heart of the small hamlet of Los Alazores, which is in the historic "Poniente Granadino" close to the beautiful region of "Axarquia". The hamlet nestles at almost 1000m above sea level and is surrounded by olive groves and orchards of almonds and figs. The area provides a multitude of remote and spectacular paths and trails for mountain biking.
If you want to spend some time sightseeing off the bike, the legendary cities of Granada, Seville and Ronda are all within reach, as are the beaches of the eastern Costa del Sol, the lake resorts of El Chorro, Vinuela and Iznajar, the incredible scenery of El Torcal and the famous flamingo lake at Laguna de la Fuente de Piedra. There is a small bar and shop in Los Alazores and the lovely towns of Rio Frio, Villanueva del Trabuco and Alfarnate are a short drive away - all offer a taste of "Real Spain" and a selection of restaurants and bars serving food and drink at prices not seen on the coast since Torremolinos was nothing but a fishing port!
Being so close to the airports means that joining us for a long weekend is a very real option. No long airport transfers at the beginning and end of your holiday means that you can fit in more riding - or resting - during your stay. While car hire is a great idea if you are going to be with us for more than a few days, we offer transfers from both Malaga and Granada at very reasonable prices.
